Sergei Fedotov paid 247 million rubles

The former general director of the Russian copyright society compensated the state for its fraud, which was cast in British real estate.

Presnensky court of Moscow recovered more than 247 million rubles on the suit of the Russian copyright society (RAO) from the former general director of the organization Sergei Fedotov, convicted of a particularly large fraud.

"The court was partially satisfied with the claim of the Russian copyright society for compensation for harm caused by the crime - an amount of about 247.5 million rubles was recovered from Fedotov," court spokesman Alexei Chernikov told Interfax. According to him, the total amount of RAO's requirements was about 294 million rubles. The court decision was appealed by Fedotov.

Sergei Fedotov June 19, 2017 was sentenced by the Meshchansky Court of Moscow to 1.5 years of the colony of the general regime for particularly large fraud (Part 4, Article 159 of the Criminal Code). He fully acknowledged his guilt and concluded a deal with the investigation. In December of last year, he was released on parole.

The investigation and the court found that Fedotov misled the members of the UES board who decided to transfer one building and three non-residential premises to the balance of CJSC "Service-Operating Company" (SEK), subsequently sold to third parties. The damage caused by the crime amounted to about 300 million rubles. During the investigation Fedotov repaid 160 million rubles.
