On February 15, a Russian citizen, Alexander Schmidt, was extradited to Russia from Serbia at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office. In 2013, he was wanted for a major fraud case. According to the investigation, Schmidt was involved in the theft of 13 combines that were on the balance of the FSUE "Bolshevik" and thereby caused damage to the state of more than 32 million rubles. In 2013, Mr. Schmidt was already convicted by the Stavropol court for wrongful actions in bankruptcy. In absentia he was sentenced to five years in a general regime colony and must pay a fine of 50 thousand rubles to the court.
According to the materials of the criminal case, in October 2009, Alexander Schmidt, as a member of the self-regulating organization of auditors “Commonwealth”, by decision of the arbitral tribunal, was appointed bankruptcy trustee of the Bolshevik Breeding Plant Federal State Unitary Enterprise. In 2007, the breeding plant was sold to JSC "Breeding plant them. Hero of Socialist Labor V. V. Kalyagin ”, founded by Imali Naduyev, convicted in absentia by the Stavropol court as the organizer of several murders of businessmen in the province and hiding, according to law enforcement, in Canada. And two years after the acquisition of the Bolshevik breeding plant by Naduyev, the enterprise suddenly became bankrupt.
Alexander Schmidt, appointed by the Bolshevik bankruptcy trustee, according to the investigation, “using his official position, as part of an organized group with accomplices, 13 combines belonging to the Russian Federation were stolen by deception. And by its illegal actions it caused the state damage in the amount of more than 32 million rubles.
Since after the initiation of the criminal case, the former bankruptcy trustee managed to escape from the law enforcement agencies, at the request of the investigation, the court placed him in custody in absentia, and he himself was put on the international wanted list. Detained him by Interpol only in December 2018.
In October 2013, Alexander Schmidt was already convicted in absentia by the Industrial District Court of Stavropol. The court found him guilty of illegal actions in bankruptcy (part 1 of article 195 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and causing property damage to the owner of the property through abuse of trust in the absence of signs of theft (paragraph “b” of part 3 of article 165 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). In February 2009, Schmidt, also appointed by the bankruptcy trustee of the bankrupt enterprise Leasing-Finance LLC, sold 53 objects at the auction for 1.354 million rubles, while according to experts, the market value of this property was more than 94 million rubles.
According to the investigation and the court, the total damage to creditors of the bankrupt enterprise due to the actions of the bankruptcy trustee amounted to 73.534 million rubles. As a punishment, Alexander Schmidt was sentenced to a prison term of five years in a penal colony, and he also had to pay a fine of 50 thousand rubles.
