The grandson of the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, Aisultan Nazarbayev, sought political asylum in the UK. He wrote about this on his Facebook page. “At this time, my family is trying to put pressure on me, and I had to take drastic measures (style and spelling preserved. - Forbes),” he writes.

This pressure, according to the grandson of the leader of the nation, is due to the fact that he owns information about "billions of US dollars stolen from the people of Kazakhstan."

“It's time for people to find out what really happened and why,” he wrote. The details of the disclosures, he said, can be found in his interview with the British newspaper The Times (he did not indicate the date of publication of the interview). In his post, he cited examples testifying, in his words, of "high-scale corruption between the government of Russia and Kazakhstan."

In particular, he mentioned a deal with the Russian Gazprom. Within its framework, there is a “cushioning company, and it generates a profit of about $ 1.5 billion per year." According to Nazarbayev, "money settles in Singapore, and there they are divided between the Russian elite." Local businessmen also earn on this scheme, wrote the grandson of the first president of Kazakhstan.

Aisultan Nazarbayev is 29 years old. After graduating from the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst (UK), he was an employee of the main intelligence department of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan. In 2017, he worked in the Kazakhstan Football Federation.

Aisultan Nazarbayev admits that after the death of his father in 2015, he used drugs, but he coped with addiction. In 2019, in the UK, he was sentenced to probation for having bitten a policeman.
