Russian billionaires continue to increase their fortunes at a time when the population as a whole is poor for the third year in a row.

Since early 2017, 28 citizens of the Russian Federation, included in the list of dollar billionaires Bloomberg, have become richer by a total of 22.447 billion dollars, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

In rubles at the current exchange rate, their total capital increased by 1.3 trillion rubles.

This amount corresponds exactly to the losses incurred by the rest of the population and the federal budget for the same period.

The hole in the Russian budget for the same period amounted to 700 billion rubles. From the bottom of 400 billion is an open deficit, and another 300 billion of the state spent from the National Welfare Fund to compensate for the shortage of funds of the Pension Fund.
