Deputy Minister of Health of Tatarstan Elena Shishmareva was found dead at home. This was reported on Wednesday by a source in the law enforcement agencies of the republic. Previously, that Shishmarev was found at home dead, the media reported.

"The information is confirmed," the source said, responding to a question about whether she was actually found dead. Earlier, the Soviet District Court of Kazan decided to place Shishmarev, who is suspected of embezzling budget funds, under house arrest before April 1.

According to the investigation, Shishmareva required employees of the economic departments of medical institutions to take advanced training courses at ANO Progress (Kazan). In case of refusal, she did not sign documents to allocate funds for their needs to medical institutions.

In the period from 2015 to 2017, about 300 contracts were concluded with this company for the amount of about 8 million rubles. At the same time, 5 million rubles went to the accounts of Fakhrutdinova IP. Investigators opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code "embezzlement by fraud" and in part 1 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Excess of official authority" in relation to unidentified persons, Shishmareva passed through him as a suspect.
