According to exit polls, voiced earlier, Sergei Sobyanin is gaining 74% of the vote with a turnout of 28%. At the same time, the CEC, as TASS reported, has so far managed to process less than 1% of the vote. According to the data after processing 0.11% of the ballots Sobyanin is gaining 67.98%. The second place is taken by the candidate from the Communist Party Vadim Kumin: according to the CEC he has 11.39% of the vote. Following them are Ilya Sviridov ("Fair Russia") - 8.83%, Mikhail Degtyarev (LDPR) - 7.11%, Mikhail Balakin ("Union of Citizens") - 2.28%.

According to the Moscow City Electoral Committee, the turnout in the mayoral election was 31.24%, RIA Novosti reports. In 2013, in the last election of the mayor, the turnout was 32.1%. In late August, the Communist Party candidate Vadim Kumin filed a lawsuit with the Moscow City Court demanding that Sobyanin be removed from the election, stating "a huge number of violations committed by the mayor's team, primarily in the information sphere." In particular, he pointed out that Sobyanin's mention in the media, he said, "is no less than ten times higher." However, the court refused to satisfy the applicant. The final decision was made on September 7 by the Supreme Court, which rejected the plaintiff's appeal against the decision of the Moscow City Court.

According to Medialogy, during the election campaign from June 1 to September 1, Sobyanin was mentioned twice as often in federal and Moscow media as other candidates for the post of mayor of the capital. His name appeared in the media 45,377 times, while the four remaining candidates Vadim Kumin (Communist Party of the Russian Federation), Mikhail Balakin (Union of Citizens), Ilya Sviridov (Just Russia) and Mikhail Degtyarev (LDPR) - mentioned a total of 20539 time.
