Trust Bank initiated a lawsuit in London's High Court for annulment of transfer of funds of the former owners of the bank Ilya Yurov, Nikolay Fetisov and Sergey Belyaev on account of their wives and using it to buy property for compensation of damage to the bank, according to Vedomosti.

"For the time that has passed since the beginning of the bank's problems before filing a lawsuit, shareholders transferred millions to their wives and other family members, claiming it to be gifts," noted the representative of Trust, saying that the High Court may annul the gifts aimed at "making funds inaccessible to creditors."

The filed lawsuit in the High Court states, inter alia, that Yurov, Belyaev and Fetisov received $ 68 million from a tax haven related to Trust's creditors, after which the money was transferred to the accounts of their wives. The latter also received transfers from the accounts of their husbands in Trust itself. As a result, Yurov's spouse acquired a restored 16th century castle Oxney Court in Kent, three apartments in London and a property in Cyprus.

"Judging by the fact that over the past 20 years, Ms. Yurov has had no independent source of income, the money for the purchase of this property have been provided by Mr. Yurov," as stated in the lawsuit of Trust.

Fetisov's wife, Elena Pischulina, is sued by Trust, as reported by Vedomosti, trying to win a three-storey country mansion in Surrey, as well as an apartment in London's Chelsea and the house on the island of Bali.

The total amount of damages, compensation for which Trust is seeking in the High Court in London, is estimated at $908 million and represents the unsecured debt owed to the bank under the control of its former owners' entities..

The representative of Trust expects that the proceedings will begin in London in October 2018.

The former head of Trust Ilya Yurov, as well as former members of the Bank Board of Directors Nikolay Fetisov and Sergey Belyaev are declared by Russia as internationally wanted. According to investigators, in 2012-2014, the accused persons withdrew the assets of Trust to the accounts of offshore companies in Cyprus, after which the money was transferred to the accounts of individuals and entities controlled by the bank's management.

On November 22, 2016 Yurov, who tried to fly from Kiev to London, was detained by Ukrainian border guards. However, the Ukrainian authorities refused to extradite him to Russia, and in January 2017 Yurov was released from custody.
