As it became known to “Kommersant”, in the case of fraud at the Eastern Cosmodrome, a new person appeared. They became the brother of the ex-director of the Main Military Construction Directorate (GVSU) No. 6 (formerly Dalspetsstroy) of Yuri Volkodava Sergey Volkodav. He is suspected of supplying GVSU cables for 100 million rubles, which were not useful to the head office.

Sergei Volkodav was arrested for two months by the decision of the Basmanny District Court, to which the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) applied. Mister Volkodava is suspected of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 285 of the Criminal Code (abuse of official authority).

The first person involved in this case, we recall, was the director of GVSU, Yuri Volkodav, who completed the construction of facilities in the East. Yuriy Volkodava was taken into custody at the end of August last year, also accused of abuses. According to investigators, on behalf of the former Dalspetsstroy, he concluded a contract with the relative of Cvetlit, a subsidiary-controlled company, for the purchase of cable products for the completion of the Vostochny cosmodrome and a number of objects of the Russian Defense Ministry in the Far East. At the same time, according to the prosecution, the purchased products “were not actually used or were not included in the subject of the agreement originally concluded between the GVSU No. 6 and the company”. The damage caused by HVSU number 6 amounted to 104 million rubles. The defense, in turn, noted that this amount was subsequently reduced by 67 million rubles, which the customer ordered from the supplier according to the decision of the arbitration court.

Sergei Volkodav’s lawyer, Levan Dzhioev, told Kommersant that his client does not admit guilt, but does not refuse to testify in the case.

Now Sergey Volkodav is the deputy general director of Novation LLC and heads Information Systems LLC. The defense is going to appeal to the Moscow City Court about the arrest of the entrepreneur.
