The Ukrainian Ministry of Justice charged about 100 million UAH ($ 3.8 million) from Gazprom at the expense of the assets of the Russian company in the territory of Ukraine in the case of a $ 6.6 billion fine allegedly for violating the law on the protection of economic competition. This was broadcast on the TV channel "112 Ukraine" by the Minister of Justice Pavel Petrenko.

"We have already recovered some of the funds - this is all that actually was at Gazprom in the territory of Ukraine. It was described, arrested and collected in the state budget of Ukraine more than 100 million UAH, "Petrenko said.

This is the decision of the Economic Court of Kiev on the suit of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) of 2016, which obliged Gazprom to pay to the Ukrainian budget more than 171 billion UAH ($ 6.6 billion) for violating the legislation on the protection of economic competition. Gazprom did not agree with the decision and challenged it. Last week, the Kiev Court of Appeal dismissed the complaint of the Russian company.

The head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Justice also promised that his department will cooperate with colleagues on other judicial decisions, including on the decision of the Stockholm arbitration in the dispute between Naftogaz and Gazprom.

"We have good prospects and good working experience regarding the implementation of these decisions not only in Ukraine, but also in other countries with which Ukraine has relevant agreements," Petrenko said.

At the end of February, the Stockholm Arbitration partially satisfied Naftohaz's claims against Gazprom and ordered the Russian company to pay $ 4.63 billion for gas shortage under the transit agreement. President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko promised on March 12 to recover from "Gazprom" in accordance with the decision of the Stockholm Arbitration "all the way to a penny."
