Vladimir Putin signed a decree on providing a one-time payment of 400,000 rubles for service in the zone of the Russian military campaign against Ukraine.
According to it, Russians and foreigners who, from August 1 to December 31, 2024, sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense to serve in the territories of the DPR, LPR, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson regions and Ukraine for a period of one year will be able to receive the payment.
In addition, the decree contains a recommendation to senior officials of Russian regions to pay contract soldiers "at least 400,000 rubles at the expense of the subjects."
It is assumed that those who received the one-time payment will not be given another payment established by the decree of November 2, 2022. It provides for a payment of 195,000 rubles for those who entered military service under a contract from September 21, 2022, during the period of the "special operation."
The size of regional payments to participants in the "special operation" currently varies. Earlier this week, the authorities of St. Petersburg increased the payment to 1.8 million rubles. In Kuban, contract soldiers have been paid 1 million rubles since April, and in Dagestan, 500,000 rubles since the beginning of July.
The largest one-time payment was established in Moscow. The city's mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, signed a decree on July 23, determining the additional payment in the amount of 1.9 million rubles. The Moscow authorities indicated that the total amount of payments to a contract soldier, taking into account monthly allowances, Moscow and federal support measures for the first year of service, is more than 5.2 million rubles.
