The National Committee of the Democratic Party of the United States filed a lawsuit in New York in which it accused a group of individuals of intervening a group of individuals in the presidential election in 2016. They are suspected of hacking computers of the Democratic Party, the theft and dissemination of information that affected the outcome of the elections. Among the defendants there is no Donald Trump, but there are representatives of his election headquarters, as well as the Russian government, the GRU, the WikiLeaks website and its founder Julian Assange. Democrats are also accused of helping to elect Trump the head of Crocus Group Araz Agalarov and his son Emin's singer. A spokesman for Agalarov told Forbes that the billionaire did not comment on the lawsuit. Earlier, the advocate of Agalarov, Scott Balber, in a Washington Post comment called the suit "frivolous" and dubbed "an advertising trick." "They had absolutely nothing to do with the alleged hacking of any computer system of democrats or any interference in the elections in the United States," Balber said of his clients.

Araz Agalarov in the suit is called "close ally" of Vladimir Putin. The businessman met Trump in 2013, when the Miss Universe contest was held in Moscow. This, as Agalarov himself said at the recent Forbes Club, their points of contact were confined. "My employees who work in America, called and asked the same questions, but they could not tell them anything new," the billionaire admitted. "They were even accused of selling apartments in Trump Tower to Russian oligarchs in the late 90s and early 2000s. At that time, we were not even acquainted. "

Direct Agalarovs with hacker attacks in the lawsuit do not connect. But the document states that in June 2016 (a month after Trump entered the presidential race) Araz and Emin Agalarov allegedly handed the son of Trump Donald a proposal for assistance from the Russian state. The letter asked to meet with Russian lawyer Natalya Veselnitskaya and get documents about the compromising ties of Hillary Clinton. The meeting was held, it was attended by Jared Kushner, Thrump's son-in-law, and the leader of the election campaign of the latter, Paul Manafort. The meeting was also attended by Irakli Kaveladze (he works for Crocus Group) and former employee of Russian counterintelligence Rinat Akhmetshin, who is called a lobbyist in the lawsuit.

Trump Jr. acknowledged the fact of this meeting and wrote on Twitter that he believed he would receive a "study of political opposition" at the meeting, but was disappointed and considered the meeting "a waste of time." Veselnitskaya recently told NBC News that she never had any compromising information about Hillary Clinton. The fact of the meeting was confirmed by Akhmetshin, he said he "expected more serious discussion". Soon after this meeting, massive hacker attacks on the computer network of the Democratic Party, in which Russian special services are accused, followed.

The Democrats also demanded that the defendants recover damages, the amount of which will be determined during the proceedings.
