Turkmenbashi is in no hurry to confirm his life

Rumors about the death of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov denies his embassy in Moscow, the president himself has not appeared for 10 days.
The quiet course of Sunday, July 21, was broken by a wave of media reports - “the head of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, died”. Journalists claimed that the 62-year-old head of Turkmenistan died of acute renal failure on July 20 in the afternoon.

The problem is that none of the above sources did not show any evidence of the death of the Turkmen leader. All authors refer to unnamed sources in the style of "the familiar nephew of her sister's husband told ...".

As an example, we can mention Aslan Rubayev, the director of the Eurasian Problems Monitoring Center organization not previously mentioned in the media. The latter, confirming the information about the death of Turkmenbashi to the “Govorit Moskva” radio station, described his sources in the following way:

“The people who told me they live in Ashgabat. They are businessmen. When I asked if it was certain, they said: there are acquaintances who work in the special services, they report that this is so, that this happened when he went on vacation. ”

In the second half of Sunday appeared refutations. First, Kommersant, and then TASS, referring to anonymous sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, reported that the information about the death is “an absolute lie”. At the same time, the denials also did not contain any specifics - the living president of Turkmenistan was not shown to the people.

Can the information about the death of Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov be true - yes. Can it be false - yes too.

Fake messages about the death of the presidents of the countries of Turkestan are not often, but they are not new either. Previously, the media "buried" Kurmanbek Bakiyev, Nursultan Nazarbayev. Islam Karimov was also buried by the media several times - the last time the information was correct.

Some conclusions can be made by indirect signs. Crumbs of available information indicate that nothing serious happened in Turkmenistan - according to eyewitnesses, the police in Ashgabat are working, as usual, there is no reinforcement observed, the military have not been entered into the capital. Turkmen channels show the usual programs, the state news agency “Turkmenistan Today” also did not publish anything disturbing. There are no signs of mourning in the country.

At the same time, the story of the death of the head of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, demonstrates that the denials of officials and calm on the streets of the capital do not necessarily mean that the president is alive.

On August 28, 2016, Ferghana.ru citing unnamed sources reported on the death of Islam Karimov. Official Uzbekistan denied the information. Then, on the streets of Tashkent, too, everything was calm - “neither the police, nor any assembly of sensitive civilians”. Only on September 2, the Uzbek authorities acknowledged the death of the country's leader.

In the current situation it is impossible to verify the information. Whether the head of Turkmenistan died or is sick, and maybe completely healthy and just resting, it will become clear in the coming days.

One thing is 100% sure - if Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is alive, then all of us will see more books written by the head of Turkmenistan - about horses, medicinal herbs and just about human wisdom.
