The chief police officer of Moscow preferred raising the resignation

Major General Plachih wrote a report after refusing a new post.
Kommersant became aware of the reason why the head of the Moscow police, Sergei Plakhikh, left the post he had held since December 2017. According to Kommersant’s information, Major General was offered to take a position in the central apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and after he refused, they recommended writing a letter of resignation. For the same reason, Major General Sergey Solopov, the head of the metropolitan economic security and anti-corruption department (UEBiPK), was previously fired.

“The deputy chief of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Moscow, the police chief Sergey Plakhikh, wrote a report on his dismissal due to the length of service that gives him the right to receive a pension,” said spokesman Vladimir Vasenin. The report is not yet satisfied, so the general is now at the disposal of the head of the headquarters.

According to the source of Kommersant, earlier, Major General Plakhikh was offered a position in the central apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which he refused to take for various reasons.

Allegedly, it was about the forensic center of the ministry, which is now led by Lieutenant General Alexei Shishko. The latter was also supposed to have a different purpose.

Note that the refusal to fill the post already became the reason for the resignation of the Moscow police. A little over a year ago, Major General Sergey Solopov was offered the post of head of the Main Directorate for Combating Extremism (GUPE), who was released in December 2018 after the resignation of General Timur Valiulin, who had occupied him for six years. The latter was forced to retire after the former spouse, whom he divorced through the court, spoke about the general's foreign real estate. The anti-corruption fighter refused to lead the GUPE of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, after which he received another proposal - to file a report on retirement due to the length of service, which was satisfied.

Who exactly will head the police of Moscow is not yet known. Perhaps this will be one of the heads of district divisions of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow.
