The famous Boeing Aircraft Corporation interrupted its cooperation with the design team of the S.V. Aviation Complex Ilyushin. This is stated in a letter to the regional director of the American company Eric R. Swanson, which at the end of November was sent to the name of the head of PJSC "Il" Yuri Grudinin. In a letter, representatives of Boeing inform Ilyushin residents that they are terminating with them from December 24, 2019 the annex to the agreement on cooperation between the companies.
The agreement between the air majors was concluded in 2003 and was valid even despite American sanctions, remaining one of the few threads that connected the aircraft designers of the two countries.
According to the agreements set forth in the agreement, a group of Russian aircraft designers of 25 highly qualified employees worked on Boeing projects, adopting digital design technologies and mastering the engineering culture of American aircraft manufacturers. The contract value was estimated at a million dollars a year.
It should be noted that the appearance of the Boeing letter coincided with publications in a number of Russian media outlets that spoke about cases of misuse of funds of the state defense order by representatives of the current leadership of Il. In particular, similar claims were presented to Yuri Grudinin, who previously headed the Beriev TANTK.
For example, it was alleged that the engineers and designers of the enterprise were drawn into questionable schemes involving the leadership of the Taganrog aircraft factory in the right to receive royalties from intellectual property allegedly created with their help.
An audit of the activity of TANTK revealed that the state defense order funds were spent with numerous violations, and the overpayment and VAT refund schemes used in this were so straightforward that even small companies in the private sector were already out of the routine of tax “optimization”.
Such “distortions” of financial discipline as the purchase of elite alcohol under the guise of souvenir products were also discovered. Judging by the report of the auditors, under the guise of making souvenir products, alcohol products worth 17.8 million rubles (!) Were purchased. At the same time, when recalculating these “material values”, only 600,000 rubles were found in the company's warehouses.
