The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has put the co-founder of Alfa Group, billionaire Mikhail Fridman, on the wanted list within the country. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. According to the card, he is considered a person who has been hiding from the pre-trial investigation authorities since October 10.

Fridman is wanted on suspicion of financing actions committed with the aim of violently changing and overthrowing the constitutional order or seizing state power (Part 3 of Article 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The SBU reported in early September that the billionaire was suspected of this article. The maximum penalty for this crime is eight years in prison.

According to the intelligence service, after February 24, 2022, the businessman invested in Russian military enterprises and used his resources to supply dry rations and clothing to the front lines.

In October, a court in Kyiv arrested the assets of Fridman and two other Russian billionaires, Pyotr Aven and Andrey Kosogov, for $460 million. The SBU noted that this would not allow the property to be “rewritten” to dummies in order to avoid their “further transfer to the income of Ukraine.” .

Fridman, as of December 20, ranks ninth in the ranking of the richest businessmen in Russia: his fortune is estimated at $12.8 billion, according to the Forbes Real-Time rating. Fridman is a native of Lvov. After the start of the war, he sent a letter to employees of the investment holding LetterOne, which manages the assets of the owners of Alfa Group. In a letter cited by the Financial Times, Friedman called what was happening a tragedy and called for an end to the “bloodshed.”

After the outbreak of the war in Gaza, it became known that Friedman, who had moved from Great Britain to Israel shortly before the Hamas attack, had arrived in Moscow. In Britain, according to the billionaire, it has become “impossible to live” due to Western sanctions imposed against him.
